Dara Gur means (in old Irish) “Warm nest, surrounded by oaks.” Our oak-sheltered home is on a quiet street in the village close to the food co-op, bookstore, fire station and Positive Pi restaurant. Because we have a spacious living room, we invite the community into our home from time to time… to enjoy discussions, potlucks, workshops, house concerts and screenings. Please join us at these times.
Public sitting meditation and Buddhist practice will be regularly offered to the public through Salmon Falls Sangha, part of the Drikung Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
Because we care about adult learning, social engagement and spiritual inquiry we invite skilled teachers, filmmakers, artists, performers and progressive exemplars as our guests. Dara Gur public events are a project of 7 Generations Trust.
Whenever possible our hosted events will be free. If the performer or leader works for a fee, we request that you pay their suggested donation. Entry is guaranteed to all ticket holders and invited public, even those with limited financial means. (Wheelchair access is provided into and within the building.)
